Point Zero Painting Workshops - No experience is necessary, just the desire to create naturally and spontaneously.
You will paint images you never even knew you were capable of doing. Painting in this method opens the door of your personal creativity.
Instead of controlled outcome, it is the heightened experience of creative FREEDOM that we are aiming towards. I always thought I had allowed myself creative freedom in my work, but through the Point Zero Painting method I realized how much further I could push myself.
You have to want to go past your current comfort zone in self-expression, but you need a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to go there. That is what this workshop is about. Asking questions that challenge our ideals in art and the reason to create art at all.
While studying the Point Zero method of painting with Michelle Cassou in San Francisco, I experienced a major breakthrough in my own creative process. It was like a gigantic dam constructed since early childhood had finally broken and the result was a huge tidal wave of personal expression.
I went home and continued to practice this different approach to my work. I could feel the difference, although it is harder to get to this place of 'freedom' when I am by myself. In December I took a second workshop at the Los Angeles Zen Centre. This time I was able to 'dig deeper', and I learned new ways to access my own personal creative expression.
"Even if we are not aware of it, each one of us longs to create, to manifest what is unique inside of us, to give it form. Freedom is necessary for pure creation take place. The pressures and demands of an expected result must go. We need to re-enter the present by the simple act of being spontaneous. Intuition guides us. Trusting the flow that comes naturally is the magic of creation. The hidden, the mysterious, the sacred from within are revealed. Old patterns break. The natural movement of creation becomes part of our life. Passion sets in."
- Michelle Cassou
Pushing past what is expected to reach new depths in your own personal and unique self-expression is a goal of Point Zero painting. What is needed for complete creativity, spontaneous expression and self-discovery? Freedom. Together we will explore how to create an environment of freedom for creative exploration.
The experience of this process will help launch new mysterious creative journeys that you didn't even know you were capable of. You do not have to be a painter to realize benefit from the point zero method. Artists, educators, counselors, anyone with a thirst for uncovering their creative voice, can benefit from this work. No experience is necessary, just the desire to create naturally and spontaneously.
